European e-Skills 2013 Conference
Measuring Progress - 10 December 2013
Marriott Hotel
Rue Auguste Orts, 3-7
Brussels (near Grand Place)

The success of the long term EU e-Skills strategy requires the involvement of all stakeholders in dialogue and partnerships for actions. Earlier this year, the President of the European Commission, José Manuel Barroso, launched a Grand Coalition for Digital Jobs at the conference on "e-Skills and Education for Digital Jobs" on 4th March 2013 in Brussels.

This is the background for this new event which will bring together leading experts in the field of e-skills from industry, business schools, universities, ICT and CIOs associations, trade unions and governments to address the following key topics:

  • State-of-play in Europe: supply and demand of e-skills and forecasts (2015-2020). The latest trends, updates and statistical figures will be presented.
  • Benchmarking national e-skills policies, initiatives and multi-stakeholder partnerships. An evaluation of progress in the EU Member States will be presented.
  • Progress of the Grand Coalition for Digital Jobs will be discussed.
  • ICT professionalism: proposals for maturing the ICT profession will be discussed and the European e-Competence Framework (3.0) will be presented.
  • e-Leadership: proposals for pan-European curriculum development guidelines and quality labels will be presented including an example of new e-leadership curricula.

The conference is organised by the European Commission (DG Enterprise and Industry) with the support of empirica and in partnership with the European e-Skills Association and several leading stakeholders.

Participation at the conference is free of charge but on invitation only. The event is fully booked. Registration is closed.
